A county this size runs on organisations most people know by name and cannot always find online. This page links the ones with a working web address, and says plainly which do not have one.

Fire departments

Seven volunteer fire departments serve this county: Howe, Johnson Township at Wolcottville, LaGrange, Mongo, Shipshewana, Stroh and Topeka. The Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association publishes their addresses.

What is not listed here

Several organisations in this county have no web address this page could link.

The LaGrange County Historical Society keeps a museum at High and Lafayette in LaGrange and is run by about twenty volunteers. Its website does not currently respond and its only other presence is a Facebook group. It is the body in this county closest to what the Gazette does, and this page cannot link it.

Others the county's own resource directory names without an address: LaGrange Communities Youth Centers, AGAPE Missions, the LaGrange County Clothes and Food Basket, Crushed but Not Broken, Compassion Pregnancy Center, Habitat for Humanity, and Impact Institute.

This page also links no Facebook pages or groups. In this county a good many organisations use one as their only web presence, and a group is often where things actually get posted. But a Facebook page cannot be checked from outside it, so nothing here can say whether one is current, and every other listing on this site carries the date it was last verified.

If your organisation belongs on this page, or has an address we have missed, tell us.

Services in this county, and the county's own directory of them, are on the resources page.

Events

Events are not listed yet. Organisations can send them in and they will be reviewed before anything is published, which is the standing rule on this site for everything submitted.

No pieces in this section yet. The organisations above are what this page holds for now.

Support the Gazette

Nothing on this site is behind a paywall and nothing on it is sponsored. If it has been worth something to you, there are three ways to give something back, and only one of them involves money.
