The Indiana Election Division's calendar sets these dates for the general election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Monday, October 5. Voter registration ends. An application delivered by hand to the county voter registration office is due by that office's close of business. One submitted online is due by midnight, at indianavoters.in.gov, the address the Secretary of State's voter registration page gives. One sent by mail must be postmarked no later than October 5.
Tuesday, October 6. Early voting begins, in person at the office of the circuit court clerk, and at any satellite site the county election board sets up.
Thursday, October 22. An application to vote by mail must be received by the circuit court clerk or the Indiana Election Division by 11:59 p.m.
Monday, November 2. In-person early voting ends at noon. The calendar says a voter waiting in line at noon may still vote.
Tuesday, November 3. Election day. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., prevailing local time. An absentee ballot returned by mail, by hand, by fax or by e-mail must reach the county election board by 6 p.m. The calendar says that deadline does not apply to a ballot mailed by an overseas voter or an overseas military voter.
The calendar was revised on March 16, 2026, and still carries the line it opened with:
DATES IN THIS CALENDAR ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE BY THE 2026 SESSION OF THE INDIANA GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The Election Division's newsletter for September 2026 gives the same registration and early voting dates. The calendar also says of itself:
WHERE YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS ARE INVOLVED, DO NOT RELY ON THIS CALENDAR. INSTEAD, REVIEW THE LAW YOURSELF OR CONSULT YOUR ATTORNEY
What the document does not contain
This is the state's calendar, not the county's. It sets the dates and deadlines in state law and gives no county's early voting hours, early voting places or polling places. LaGrange County's website, checked on September 30, 2026 at its Clerk and Voter Registration pages, gave early voting hours and election day voting locations for the May 5 primary only, and none for November 3. The county's early voting sites may also be listed at indianavoters.in.gov, where a search requires a voter's own name, date of birth and county.
